Shruti (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates shrutiapp.com and the Shruti desktop application. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information about you when you use our services.

By using Shruti, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Waitlist Information

When you join our waitlist, we collect:

Email address (required)
Name (optional)
Date and time of signup

2.2 Meeting Audio (at launch)

When you use Shruti to transcribe meetings, we process:

System audio captured during your meeting session
Transcript text generated from the audio
AI-generated summaries, action items, and decisions

Audio is never stored. Raw audio is processed in memory and permanently deleted immediately after transcription. We do not retain audio recordings under any circumstances.

2.3 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

Email address
Name
Billing information (processed by Lemon Squeezy — we do not store payment card data)

2.4 Usage Data

We may collect anonymized usage data such as:

Number of meetings transcribed
Languages detected
App version and operating system

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide the Shruti transcription and summarization service
To notify you when early access is available (waitlist only)
To manage your account and subscription
To improve transcription accuracy and language support
To respond to support requests
To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your meeting content to train AI models without explicit consent.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure hosted on AWS. All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). We implement industry-standard security measures including:

Row-level security on all database tables
Encrypted environment variables for all API keys
No storage of raw audio recordings
Regular security audits

5. Data Retention

Audio recordings: Deleted immediately after transcription (never stored to disk)
Transcripts and summaries: Retained for 30 days in your account, then automatically deleted
Waitlist data: Retained until you request deletion or we send your early access invite
Account data: Retained for the duration of your subscription plus 90 days after cancellation

6. Your Rights

GDPR (European Users)

You have the right to: access, correct, delete, and port your personal data; withdraw consent; lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

India DPDP Act (Indian Users)

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to access information about your data, correct inaccurate data, and request erasure of your data.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Supabase — database and authentication
Lemon Squeezy — payment processing and subscription management
Google Cloud — speech-to-text transcription API
Vercel — website hosting

Each third party has their own privacy policy. We only share the minimum necessary data with each provider to deliver our service.

8. Cookies

We use minimal cookies — only those necessary for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

9. Children

Shruti is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, contact us at team@shrutiapp.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email (if you have an account) or by posting a notice on our website. Continued use of Shruti after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
